We had several brainstorming sessions with the FX publicity team and came up with the idea of promoting the launch of the FX Channel with a tribute to their biggest show, zombie-fest The Walking Dead.
Zombie actors were caged in Federation Square in Melbourne and Martin Place in Sydney, then released at sunset to become part of a Twitter hunt.
FX followers could win prizes for tracking down zombies and the launch activity led into two larger events. The annual Zombie March in Sydney and the advance premiere of The Walking Dead in Adelaide were both used to boost the campaign with minimal cost.
